The question
If an AI agent can move money, how does anyone check afterwards why it did?
WalletMind makes the agent write its reasoning down, on a public chain, before the money moves.
Why it exists
Once an agent can spend money, there has to be a record of why it did. WalletMind logs each decision on-chain before the agent acts, so the record cannot be rewritten afterwards.
How it works
How a payment request becomes a recorded decision
- 1
Request
A payment request in plain language, such as paying for an API call.
- 2
Assessment
The agents work out the intent, check the balance, estimate the gas and rate the risk. A risky request is rejected here.
- 3
Record
The decision is fixed in two places before anything is sent.
- IPFS
- The full content of the decision.
- On-chain
- Its hash, logged by the AgentWallet contract.
- 4
Execution
The transaction is sent, and the outcome is evaluated and logged.
Decisions
Log first, then act, enforced by the contract
The AgentWallet contract will only execute a decision whose hash was logged earlier, that has not been executed before and that keeps the total under the spending limit. The rule is tested in the contract suite.
One spending cap the owner controls
The wallet has a single cumulative limit, 0.1 ETH by default, which only the owner can reset. A pause switch stops both logging and execution.
Reputation moves with outcomes
In the registry an agent gains reputation for each success and loses more for each failure, within fixed bounds.
Evidence
- Built
Two Solidity contracts with about 49 Hardhat tests, four agent classes, a LangGraph pipeline with eight steps and a Prisma schema for PostgreSQL.
Trade-offs and limits
- In the backend, logging and execution run in the same pipeline and a logging failure does not stop execution. The strict log-first rule is held by the contract.
